A note from Madison...

Hello everyone...

I am preparing for the big move. Things are getting a little cramped up in here. Foods been the same thing over and over. Can't strech and someone keeps pressing down on me from all angles. I feel the instinct to go through that little opening down there but I am not sure how.

I am packing my stuff up and I getting the heck out of Womb (that's what they call this place). I keep hearing three voices constantly. One's really loud, the other one I can't understand (must be in Chinese), and the other only asks the first one if "she's ready." Whatever that means. I just keep having this instict to "go into the light..."

One centimeter...

We went to the doc today and he said that Noemi is 1 cm. dialated. The date has been set for Tuesday, but we are going to see him again on Monday. If nothing happens from today till 1/31, then he is inducing the labor... fun fun fun. I am working my tail off in hopes that the baby will give me till the end of month to work. I can tell she's a Primerica baby already. What a life!!!

Mia's good, mom's big, and dad's anxious!

The first band of storms...

Early Wednesday morning at about 0 500 hours, the first bands of Hurricane Madison reached shore. Most of the coast is without power so we thought that the storm had finally touched down. It wasn't the real deal... yet. After a brief hot shower, the terrible winds subsided and the coast has become calm again. The natives are quite restless but they are standing vigil tonight. All seems calm but there's a storm a brewin'.

All the bags are packed, the candles are ready, the car's filled with gas, and the generator is on stand by.

Captian, I don't think she can hold much longer... She's comin' apart at the seems laddie. If the phone rings in the middle of the night... gets ready... Hurricane Madison is a comin'! (can you tell that I am delusional???)

She's about to blow...

Okay this is getting down to the wire. Will she be a Louk and make it on the 31st? Or will she be a Garcia and make it waaaay past the 31st? Hopefully we spawn a new breed and she makes it here tomorrow. My guess date was the 25th. A day before my mom's. But that was just wishfully thinking. I didn't have any gut feeling about it at all. My gut, which has grown considerably, tells me... grooowwl...oops, I mean, it tells me that Madison will be late.

At the end, she'll get here when she's damn well and ready to (or Doc induces her).

Beware... the Ice Cream Monster

Only 11 day's left. And believe you me, it can't come any sooner. The woman is getting restless. Feet are at an all time water retention capacity. I have been wanting to share a picture of them but I am afraid for my life. Things are a little tense over here. I am now cooling them off with massages, cold compresses, and Mineral Ice at night to ease the pain (thank you Mark Cruz for the idea) She almost fell today walking over me and she really put a hurtin' on her back. Yes, I was to blame. I didn't think I was, but I ain't arguing this late in the game.

No ice cream is now safe near her. She is like the lion in Madagascar when he's stranded on the island. Everything is about ice cream. She has even broken the ice cream scooper thingamajig. No one is safe. Keep all ice creams in the freezer locked away. Last night we caught her at 3:00am at a Farm Stores holding up the lady with a spoon... just for a lick of some rocky road. It's sad, very sad. God help us all... ;)

T minus 15 days...

I can't believe that it's almost time. Noemi keeps getting bigger and bigger. Today, Noemi and Mia went out to get some pictures done with Tia Millie. She's a great photographer. If any of you ever need someone... she's your girl!

As for my nephew Noah, he starts his first day of soccer practice tomorrow. He's only 4. Watch out Pele. Sandra was telling me that the coach said the kids get more excited about the snacks at the end of the game than the game itself. I remember my first season in soccer. You can say that I wasn't the smoothest kid in kleats.

Well, this thing could pop at any time now. So be on the look out for a new baby!!!

And the growth continues...

22 days and counting...
We had an awesome day today. We were able to sit with many of our friends and listen to one of my personal heroes, Art Williams. He was the founder of the company that Noemi and I are fortunate to be a part of. Noemi was a trooper. She sat with us the whole 7 hours (of course with a lot of breaks). I just wanted to pass along these pictures so that you could enjoy. Sorry that there hasn't been many posts, but thankfully, their hasn't been much baby activity.

Mia continues to bless us and we are quite anxious. We went to lamaze (sp?) class on Saturday and Noemi wishes that we would have gone sooner. That way, I would have learned all the massaging techniques early on. That night we were able to spend it with many of our friends at Mortons Steakhouse (top 10 in the nation). If you go, get the Cajun Ribeye. WOW. Noemi grew, Maddie grew, and so did I. More to come.

Happy New Year!!!

Welcome Everyone!!!

With as much success as we had with Mia's adoption blog (thank you Jorge), we thought it fitting to do the same for the new one on the way. Consider this part two. We went to Dr. Triana's today (best obgyn in Miami... thanks Max (best obgyn in Naples)), and he told us that Noemi is 4 days away from being "full term." For all you non parents, that means that the baby could come out any day now. She's due on January 31st.

The question everyone's been asking is, "are you ready?" The answer is a resounding "Heck, no!!!" Are we really every ready.... for anything? Was I ready for college? Nope. Was I ready for marriage? Not a chance. Was I ready to run a business? I don't think so. Is Noemi ever ready to go out on time??? I think you all know that answer. But we sure as heck have always been excited. So Madison will be coming regardless of our preparations.

So, get ready... Here comes another blog for the story books.
